Meat with plums

Meat and plums? Yes, this is a very famous recipe from Morocco. And do not worry, it tastes really good! The delicately cooked meat and the tasty sauce goes best with one bread, or rather in this country with chips or potatoes. Besides the classic beef and lamb can be taken. The ingredients should be available in your local stores.

  • 500g beef / lamb
  • 4-5 onions
  • 50g prunes
  • 50g dried apricots
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 3-4 grated garlic cloves
  • 3-4 bay leaves
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, turmeric, ginger, red paprika powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon for the apricots (the plums can be bought as prunes)

The fastest way is to use a pressure cooker. Bring the dried apricots in a small pot with about 1/2L of water to a boil. Sauté the meat with a little oil, then add salt and onion. Then come coriander, garlic, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and spices in the pot. All this stir and mix. Now, about half a liter of water, and then cover the pot and let the meat cook for about 30-45min. The time can vary depending on the meat type and quantity. After about 15 minutes of ground cinnamon and sugar can be added to the apricots. Then let the whole thing about 5 minutes to boil. If they are soft enough, they should let drain in a sieve. After the meat is, remove the cinnamon sticks and bay leaves and serve the meat with the sauce, and the apricots and prunes to a platter. A little sprinkling of sesame seeds - that's it!

Bon Appétit ;)
